Maya is a bright, funny, and kind 12-year-old girl from Hythe, Kent, who has been living with neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer, since she was just three years old.
After years of intensive treatment , including chemotherapy, a stem-cell transplant, radiotherapy, and clinical trials in both the UK and US , Maya’s cancer sadly returned in July 2025. With no curative options now available, she is receiving palliative chemotherapy to help manage her symptoms and prolong her life. Her family are now focused on making each day as comfortable and meaningful as possible, creating moments of joy and stability while treasuring precious time together.
Alongside the emotional toll, they face serious financial strain. Maya’s dad cares for her full-time, while her mum continues to work as a nurse and juggle hospital travel and rising living costs. Covering essentials like bills, travel, and mortgage payments has become incredibly difficult.
That’s why fundraising is so vital , every donation helps relieve financial pressure and allows the family to focus fully on Maya’s care and comfort.
Maya’s Journey was created to share her story, raise awareness, and unite the community that continues to support her with love, hope, and kindness.
