The Superheroes Among Us

Twice a week, Maya receives platelet transfusions.

Once a week, she needs a blood transfusion.

It has become part of our routine — bags carefully checked, lines connected, numbers monitored — but it never becomes normal. Each transfusion is a reminder of how fragile life can be, and how incredibly generous strangers are.

What many people may not realise is this: without blood and platelet donors, Maya simply wouldn’t be here. It’s that stark. Every donation is time — more moments, more breaths, more chances for her to keep fighting.

We don’t know the names of the people who roll up their sleeves, but we carry their kindness with us every single day. Their selflessness flows directly into our daughter’s veins, quietly doing what medicine alone cannot.

To every blood and platelet donor — thank you.

You are not just donors.

You are lifelines.

You are hope.

You are real-life superheroes.

And because of you, Maya is still here. ❤️🩸
